Exciting Chase on June 21st
The Severe Studios Chasers were in the field on June 21st. The chase began early in the morning and continued until early the next morning (almost a 24 hour chase). Kory Hartman chased a large, long lived supercell that formed near Gettysburg, SD at around 7:00 AM. As the storm moved southeast in a three hour time frame, it produced multiple funnels, softball sized hail near White Lake, SD, high winds, and torrential rain. The supercell finally weakened in Hutchinson County, SD. Hartman provided live video and reports to Keloland TV in Sioux Falls, SD.

Later that afternoon, chasers Kory Hartman and Kenny Allen headed to north central Nebraska. The chase team intercepted a large supercell near the Atkinson, NE area. The cell was slow moving, but produced a continuous wall cloud for over an hour. Multiple funnels were observed, large hail, and lots of cloud to cloud and cloud to ground lightning. While the storm attempted to become tornadic, there was no confirmed tornado touchdown.
