A major winter storm has its sights set on Chicago. The Windy City could get up to a foot of snow through tomorrow! Major road and air delays are expected.

A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 6 PM Thursday evening as snow begins to push in. The snow will continue, heavy at times, through Friday night. Most locations will get 6-10″ with a few spots topping the foot mark.

Areas north of Chicago, including parts of southern Wisconsin will also see heavy snowfall tonight. A sharp cutoff will set up south of Chicago with cities as close as Kankakee potentially only getting a few inches.

Travel is expected to become dangerous tonight and roads will remain treacherous tomorrow as plows struggle to keep up with the heavy snow. Flight delays and cancellations are anticipated at O’Hare. Travel safely!
