3-20 Severe Weather Outlook

Severe weather is once again possible today for parts of the Southeast. Yesterday’s main tornado threat area was centered on northern Alabama. Today, this threat moves eastward into central and northern Florida.

There is an Enhanced Risk of severe weather stretching from central Florida along coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. This includes Wilmington, NC, Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA, and Jacksonville, Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando in Florida.

Thunderstorms that move through these locations today could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, and even a few tornadoes. A Tornado Watch has already been issued for parts of Florida and Georgia and will last until 7 PM ET.
