A 5.4 magnitude earthquake has hit southern Califonia. Originally, the earthquake was rated 5.8, but has since been downgraded.
The quake struck at 11:42 AM PDT. Buildings swayed in downtown Los Angeles for several seconds as some office buildings were evacuated.
Over 20 aftershocks have been recorded, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The largest aftershock was of 3.8 magnitude.
