The National Weather Service in Morehead has released this PDF file of the event.

Six tornadoes reported Sunday across North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. Click here for SPC storm reports from 4/20.

10:15 PM EDT
A Tornado Watch replaced the Severe Thunderstorm Watch at 8:00 PM. The best chance for brief tornadoes is on the outer banks of North Carolina.

6:00 PM EDT
A Tornado Warning lingers for areas east of Richmond, VA. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues for the region until 8:00 PM EDT.

4:24 PM EDT
The storm in Beaufort County, North Carolina has been "backbuilding" and there's a new hook echo on radar now with a TVS (Tornado Vortex Signature). Rotation is strong. Still threatening the Chocowinity and Washington, NC areas.

3:51 PM EDT
A new Tornado Warning has been issued for Beaufort County, NC until 4:30 PM EDT. There has been a report of a tornado. This storm is southeast of Washington, NC.

This system looked and acted...

Very much like a tropical type system on its way to dying. Very brief, short lived weak tornadoes in "feeder bands" so to speak.

This appears to be a trend with these deep, occluded type storm systems in between more of a split flow than zonal or progresive type.
