Greensburg Begins To RebuildHere is a great story that I wanted to share with everyone. Greensburg, KS is now rebuilding and they are doing it in a unique way; the "Green Way". As we approach the first year anniversary of the Greensburg Tornado, it is great to see that there is progress and new development in their small Kansas town. Greensburg EF-5 on KSN

The Phoenix of South Central Kansas
I have been through (and near) Greensburg several times in my decade of storm chasing. Greensburg is a terrific place, and I'm delighted to hear it will rise again. Home is where the heart is (not where the house was)!
(For those who missed it, check the Weatherwise Magazine 2007 Almanac issue. the cover features an aerial photo of Greensburg after the storm, showing the whole town from directly above. In the photo, the town is just a smear of brick and lumber with distinct outlines of only a handful of buildings visible. It's a real jaw-dropper! See http://news.satimagingcorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/greensburgks_i... for a look)
With support and respect for Greensburg's spirit,
Lisa Beal
Good for Greensburg
My family is from Greensburg. Some have been there 40+ years. Like so many others they completely lost their homes last year. They were also some of the first to rebuild. Greensburg is a great little town, it always has been and always will be. The tornado may have been big, it may have taken the entire town, but it could never take the heart and love away from anyone there.
Awesome!
Its great to see a town rebuilding after such a horrific event. Not to mention a town that is still trying to better itself in whatever way that it can.
