Severe Saturday - 7/20/08News Stories 9:00 PM CDT At 8:53 PM National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. The most dangerous part of the storm was located 15 miles west of Earling Iowa. The storm was moving east at 32 MPH. Locations impacted by the storm include -- but are not limited to -- Panama, Westphalia, Kirkman, Earling, Defiance, Irwin, and Harlan. Highway 59 between mile markers 73 and 85 is also in the warned area. 5:42 PM CDT 5:42 PM CDT Elsewhere, numerous severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect. Severe weather.
I don't think much of a tornado threat exists today can't rule them out.The upper flow is not the best not the best directional shear north west alloft to south west at surface you need south east flow for better turn.The cap up to 3,000 is not the best and the lapse rates to.I see 2.5 hail 70 winds maybe a tornado.
