Storms

well the downgrade from a moderate risk to slight is a blow-- im looking into the chicago area for tomarrow. I am predicting a moderate risk to be placd there tommarrow. It looks pretty good...

and there is a storm complex moving into IL right now that is dumping 6-8 inches of rain! THATS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Naperville Bubble!!!!!!!!! CURSE YOU!!!!

(the Naperville bubble is a mystical 'bubble' that allows NO storm to hit Naperville, IL. We havn't got hit by a good storm in THREE YEARS. THREE!... watching every storm form or miss me for three years is getting old...)

downgrade from moderate to slight

Guess I shouldn't be too surprised. The 250 mb map from this morning showed a general west to east upper wind flow, even though the Omaha reading showed a northwest wind of 30 knots at that level.

(By the way, I'm just a weather amateur, with no training.)

Glad I didn't continue N for the BUSTOLA!

Once I got into Omaha, I re-evaluated everything, and it didn't add up to me, and I figured I had as good of a chance near home. I figured with morning convection, it would land me way further west than I planned on going. So I called it. Ended on some pretty cool cells near Seneca, KS that had some good striations in them, and a massive wall cloud below, before they went to HP outflow, and the show was over...

Thanks!

Great Pics! Thanks for sharing Chris.
