Andy Gabrielson - Looking back on '09 and ahead to 2010

This season has been one that many have been frustrated by, myself included. Over 60,000 miles traveled this season, a month of May that went by with 1 significant tornado day which could have just as well been a November with the amount of storms we actually had.

June is where all the miles and effort payed off with 3 great tornado days, between coming within 200 yards of the La Grange, WY tornado, 150 yards from the Schell City, MO tornado, and 50 yards from the Steamboat Rock, IA tornado AND getting hit by an 8 foot by 6 foot peice of a shed roof on that same day...

Other days note as noteable but still great were Roll, OK on April 26th along with very early that morning a few tornadoes in the Enid area (2am). Also May 13th, 3 seperate, very brief tornadoes -- only two of which exibited condensation funnels reaching halfway to the ground, July 3rd right at dark near Solamon, KS a brief dusty tornado with rapidly skies... just to name a few, and there were other days with funnels and breif touchdowns but I will save that for a full season wrap up here and on my site...

The season isn't over, it never is, some chasers open the season in April and tuck it away in a box and shelf it after June passes. However myself and some others never shelf it and pack it in, the season goes on all year round, the peak may be over, but tornadoes can happen almost anytime and anywhere. I will have a DVD availible at the end of the season and I hope some of you pick that up and enjoy what I witnessed throughout what ended up actually being a pretty decent 2009...

With that I invite you to join in the discussion from current and past events on my forum at www.findthetornado.com you'll find the link on the left hand side...
Also I welcome you to watch any of my videos again from this season at www.youtube.com/findthetornado and please rate and leave comments...
As this season slows and may virtually come to a grinding hault for a few weeks I want to entertain the thought of selling the rest of my shirts before I get new ones for 2010... Watch for an update price on those soon at www.severestore.com and be sure to pick up your SevereStudios shirts and other merchandise along with my own.

A big thanks to Kory Hartman for doing what he does very well, selling video. He brokered my video, locked me into streaming gigs, and is still selling more stuff as we speak. This isn't a brag about making money off selling video, for those of you who watch streaming here regularily I am sure at some point it crossed your mind "damn that guy must spend alot of money of gas"... uh... yep I do, and all the streaming and video sales allowed me to do that this season.

SevereStudios was also very reliable all year, we had one problem with our new server the first time we used it in February, otherwise we haven't had any operating issues all season and I know that will continue into next year and years to come...

Thanks,

Andy, thank you...

Andy,

Thank you for all the great streams and vids you provided this year. Also, I want to thank you and Kory for the support you gave me in the field this year. This is truly a great team to be a part of!
