Current Tornadic Trend: 905 this year!Interesting graphic of where the SPC shows our count so far this year. I find it very telling that we have had a higher number of recent events that are striking in the southern states, wonder if it shows a trend vs. a temp shift in the patterns. Multimedia presentation
The SPC also has a multimedia presentation that show some of the velocity data and radar data from the tulsa area tornadoes. The one that hit in Picher OK was rated an EF-4, and literally striped one house's foundation from the ground. When it crossed the state line into MO it had combined with another tornado and the two damage paths had combined to become over a mile wide. The damage as it crossed into MO was rated at EF-4 according to NWS. If I remember correctly, this is the one that for a time appeared to be bearing down on Joplin.
