Chase - 5/4/07

11:37 PM
Have uploaded video to the site. After punching the core of the storm 3 times to get better visibility, we came up on a large wedge-shaped funnel on Highway 262 between Alexandria and Emery. Viewers of our live stream saw it for about 20-30 seconds before it got majorly rain-wrapped in the HP supercell. For the next hour, we listened to reports of damage SE of Alexandria.

Just before dark, we heard that it was our own Storm Chaser Eric Schroeder's uncle's farm that had been hit by a tornado about 3/4 mile south of our earlier position. We backtracked to the area and checked on the family. Fortunately, they knew storms were coming and had taken shelter in the basement. The entire garage, 1/4 of the house, a grain bin and multiple sheds and confinements were destroyed.
