11:49 PM
Trying to get home. Road detours on 281 causing us major problems. We have been stuck in this mess of a storm for way too long now. Hail, wind, horizontal rain, zero visibility.
10:57 PM
On the tornado warned storm. Possible rotation to the east of us... lots of precip and is making it hard to see any rotation. Meso indicators near Lake Andes and Wagner. Lots of Cloud-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-Ground lightning.
* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
EAST CENTRAL CHARLES MIX COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA
* UNTIL 1115 PM CDT
* AT 1051 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO OVER EAST
CENTRAL CHARLES MIX COUNTY...OR ABOUT 15 MILES EAST OF LAKE

10:32 PM
Stuck in a major Severe Thunderstorm right now near Lake Andes, SD. Horizontal Rain, Pea Size Hail. Wind gusts over 40 MPH and street flooding. We are heading home on HWY 281. Power went out in Lake Andes for a while. Kory is driving and Kenny is trying to edit and upload some video clips. Constant blinding lightning.
9:24 PM
Heading back to SD. Going to drive through all of this junk leftover in Central NE. Taking the live ChaseCam down so we can get some clips for 10 PM news. Planning on taking HGWY 11 back to border. Then 281 back to SD. Will update more and have video later.
8:41 pm
Repositioning for better view of wall cloud in Atkinson, NE. Had a funnel. Trying to keep feed up. Roads are horrible here... cannot get across Holt county line. Thanks for watching. View should be better now.
7:45 PM
Update for everyone. We just left Spencer, NE. Going to Midway, then over to Atkinson, NE to hopefully intercept this tornadic supercell. Mammatus on the ChaseCam right now. Great structure. Great storm.
7:22 PM
Nice resurfaced road we are driving on right now out of Lake Andes. Going to cross at the Fort Randall Dam! Pickstown in five minutes.
Seeing lots of scud! Some nice cumulus towers to our SW. Stay Tuned... hope the feed works in NE.
6:54 PM
Overshooting tops in Keya Paha, NE... we are looking straight south at the storm. Heading south to track the storms, probably not going to catch the storms in time.
6:23 PM
Large Towering Cumulus to our south. We are heading south on SD 45. We are too far away right now to see anything. Stream is working right now. You can see the towering cumulus.
5:54 PM
Kory just picked up Kenny... Looks like another Ken and Kory Late Shift event tonight. It is the longest day of the year, hoping for sunlight until past 9 PM, since we are not even close to the river yet. Hope to be in Fort Thompson by 6:15 PM... we will see how the roads look for traffic ;) out here.
We still believe that there could be some major action in Hand and Hyde counties tonight, after talking to some forecasters. But like we have said, we are chasers, not forecasters. WE are depending on others information. They are probably sending us into nothing... but who knows. A sunset on the river may be nice.
Check back soon... ChaseCam is up. Wish we would have headed out an hour earlier.
5:25 PM
Heading west again... Tornado Watch issued for western SD until midnight. ChaseCam will be back up in moments.
4:18 PM
Cell is going up by Faith [RADAR] tracking SE... may be in the Pierre area in a couple hours. Debating heading that direction.
3:57 PM
Just received a nice note from the Aberdeen NWS office:
"I would like to thank you for alerting us to your location and live streaming video earlier today during our severe weather. Your reports helped out, especially in our not-so-populated areas. Thanks again, and be safe out there today..."

MD's are flying... but I don't think anyone has a good handle on where the next wave will come from. Possible development in northwest SD could track southeast, and storms could pop in NEB this evening. We'll keep watching!
2:13 PM
This is Kory... I am in Huron (have to work a LITTLE today!). Will be watching for development later today. I don't think we are done yet. SPC has just issued this:
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md1238.html
Hope you enjoyed the stream... especially the cows near Gann Valley. If you were watching, you know what I mean!
1:13 PM
Back on the road, heading to Huron, SD. Forestburg has sun and 80 F. Thinking there will be more development this afternoon after day time heating. We are expecting a new round of storms to start in the pocket from Mitchell to Huron, as clearing is currently happening, allowing for more heating.
ChaseCam is back up for a while. It will be up and down this afternoon until things start going again.
12:30 PM
Chase Team is back in Mitchell, SD. We are going to regroup, look at models, and see if there will be any redevelopment to our west. Looks like NW IA is going to get this line of storms moving out of SD. We are wondering if this is why the SPC is looking at issuing watches for this area. We are hoping daytime heating will force more storms to form along this slow moving front that is parked over the I-90 corridor. Check back soon for updates. ChaseCam may be offline for a while.
12:05 PM
Kelo Storm Team has asked us to stay close to home. We are going to stay in the I-90 corridor for now, but will consider getting south on I-29 if things get going in NW IA tonight.
Staying in the Mitchell to Chamberlain area for now. ChaseCam up and rolling for 4 hours plus now.
Very nice towering cu forming now... looking west. Looks great on the feed.
11:50 AM
Heading east out of Parkston, SD. Continuing chase for the rest of the day. Following the former intense supercell. SPC has issued a moderate risk for the rest of the day for SE SD, NW IA, and SW MN. New Mesoscale Discussions for possible watches in MN and IA. Will consider chasing all the way east into NW IA.
ChaseCam is up and running. Keep watching. Thanks for the emails and comments, keep them coming!
10:56 AM
Severe weather continues in Aurora County, SD. We are heading east to Stickney. Shear marker on GRlevel3 and Hail marker indicating 3.5 inch hail.
If you are in the Stickney or Corisca, SD area, prepare for strong winds and damaging hail.
10:35 AM
Rain, pea size hail, wind.... so much fun. PUNCHING THE CORE... (Just what Mike Hollingshead wanted!)
Hard to see anything on the ChaseCam, 1.5 - 3" inch hail hitting the car right now!! Like golfballs and baseballs bouncing off the car!
10:24 AM
COWS...DEER... Car is flying over the intersections. Damn cows slowed down our chase. Trying to get south to the hook of the storm. Heading to White Lake, SD. ChaseCam back up.
10:03 AM
Severe Thunderstorm watch now for all of SE SD. We are now in Gannvalley. Strongest supercell in the area is producing small funnels and rotation. Our stream is having some data issues. Please keep buffering or try reconnecting. Thank you for watching. Please shoot us an email or comment on this blog if you are watching. Thanks for your support.
No Tornado yet....
9:51 AM
Clearing near hail core to our south. Lots of rotation. We are 5 miles NW of Gannvalley, SD. We have a lowering with some rotation.
Keloland TV is taking our coverage live. Live ChaseCam is looking great on the air. No tornado yet, but the conditions are perfect for it.
9:46 AM
ABR NWS has been watching the feed. New tornado warning. We have had some funnels go up and down and some minor rotation. ChaseCam is up and going great. You can see the storm.

We are close to intercepting the storm.
7:32 AM
Tornado warning for Agar and Onida, SD. Kory was on his way to work in Huron when this warning came out. He is now in route to the storm. If he can make it in time, we will put the live ChaseCam online.
Stay Tuned for updates.
Thanks!
It is really nice having everyone back us up with forecasts, nowcasts, etc. Plus, we love being able to provide the ChaseCam product to the community. The storm chasing community is 99% positive, friendly, out to help others, type of people. We just want to inform and warn. That is why we are always on the phone with the NWS before we ever get out of the car to film or take photos of the storms. The chase cam is nice, because it is always on, always there, and requires little interaction, so we can focus on the chase, while still providing others with a unique view.
Thanks for visiting and thanks for letting us hang out in your chat room.
Great job yesterday, It was

GREAT JOB
The Cam video is awesome, I will donate again! Thanks for the great work!
Guys you are doing great, keeping going. NEW MAP SOON
Alright guys, doing good, new map is coming up soon. Do not go West into SPC watch zone. Chances are they need to get one for the SD/NE border. South if the way, but my map for night time will be out very soon.
Tornado Dynamics near you still. Stay safe if something forms.
Hey guys, Evening map is up.
Are you guys heading out? I'll be right back. I'm in the chat, and it's all updated with the maps in there as well, but i'm going to go workout for an hr or so. be back.
Frontal zone will move down through the Evening, basically currently wiping Southeastern South Dakota out of any tornado chances. I really think for now the complex moving across the tornado areas now will move out of the way, and another round should form behind it. This will be in the Tornado Dynamics for the Northeastern Nebraska area, into Iowa and Minnesota. Minneapolis I think will stay out of the tornado dynamics at Evening time, and most of this should be to the Southwest of them into South and West Minnesota. Also a round in Central South Dakota possible. Looking near Northeastern Pennsylvania as well, and also, curious about Northern Delaware and Western New Jersey still for tornado dynamics? We will see.

Hi Kelly/Kory, This is
Hi Kelly/Kory,
This is really interesting. My sister is in Ft. Thompson working and I was able to let her know what was coming her way.
Thanks for the service.
Stay safe Kelly and crew.
