Ribbon Cutting at Little Sioux Ranger House

Saturday morning at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in western Iowa, the Mid-America Council of the Boy Scouts held a ribbon-cutting, formal presentation, and open house of the rebuilt Ranger's home.

The Scout Ranch and the home of Camp Ranger Nathan Dean was destroyed by a tornado on June 11th. The Dean family lived on the Ranch grounds and Nathan is in charge of maintenance and operations. After the tornado, the Dean family was left with virtually nothing and has had to "start over".

Hearthstone Homes, Lowe’s and Rebuilding Together partnered with the Mid-America Council to get the home rebuilt quickly. Framing began on August 28th and the ranger and his family was able to move in following the ceremony.

SevereStudios was also at the dedication and presented the Scout Camp and the Dean Family with a check for the total amount raised here at SevereStudios.com, $3,527.37. In addition to a $1,000 kick-off donation, SevereStudios covered all promotional fees, PayPal/banking fees, and travel fees for the fundraiser.

100% of all donations went straight to the Boy Scouts and the Dean family. In addition to this, SevereStudios will be helping the camp with installation and training on weather software and equipment.
