Firewire camcorders

You are EXACTLY right, Garrett!

Older cameras (or a new Sony DCR HC-52) with firewire ports are the perfect cams for streaming.

Of course, you need a firewire port on the LAPTOP, too :)

Kory

I find that older models of

I find that older models of cameras work well for chasing, yes of course the HD cameras are nice, but the bandwidth limitaion for streaming is too low to capture the full effect. For example, my streaming camera is a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV140 (which I bought in 1999), I connect it to my computer(which is a well equipped Asus gaming machine) via 4-pin to 4-pin firewire. You may be able to find these great and inexpensive cameras at your local pawn shop, craigslist or even garage sales!

Storm Chasing.

I purchased a Sony Hd Handicam and it really works well in all lighting. I'm no professional, But i am very interested in learning more about Storm Chasing. I am into Paranormal activity also and Have some Great shots from that too.
Please let know how to become a SevereStudio Member. I would Like an oppurtunity to work You Guys...
Have a Great Day...

Severe studios

Just wanted to say hello, and that im new to this site, and hopeing to meet wonderful chasing friends. looking to start streaming this summer. Again hello all.

dear kate

contact the chasers individually like andy@severestudios.com or tim@severestudios.com or kory@severestudios.com or any of the other associate chasers... that should help you get on your way...

Chasers

Kate, you do have tornadoes in Australia. And I think you have more than is reported because many occur inland away from population centers. There are some chasers in Queensland and NSW.

I'd reccomend joining Stormtrack and meeting up with some on there. Good luck, and stay safe.
