Biography

The weather is my hobby, ok maybe a passion. My day job is working at The Schwan Food Company in Marshall, MN as a Senior Systems Engineer in the IT Operations department. I have a B.S. degree in Computer Science from University of Montana.

I am a trained SKYWARN weather spotter with advanced training from the National Severe Weather Workshop in Norman, Oklahoma each year.

I am also a licensed Amateur Radio operator (KC0YKX) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) for the Tracy Ambulance Service and Shetek 1st Responders.

My Achievements are:

> CERT Instructor for state of Minnesota
> Murray County ARES Emergency Coordinator
> Murray County Citizen Corp & CERT Program Coordinator
> Board of Directors for American Red Cross Prairiewinds Chapter (SW Minnesota)

I enjoy chasing storms, each one is different and new. The main reason for me chasing is to provide better information to the National Weather Service and local Emergency Managers in getting the warnings out faster to warn the public in the event of severe weather. I assist the NWS by spotting severe weather since radar technology cannot see tornadoes on the ground.

I use state of the art weather equipment and software in my chase car to assist in getting closer to the storms and tornadoes to provide valuable data and pictures to the NWS. The nice thing about the weather, it always changes and teaches us new things.
