Biography

Eric Schroeder was born and raised in South Dakota. Extreme weather, from snow storms to tornadoes, was always on his mind.

Schroeder is a SKYWARN trained spotter and has been chasing storms since 2002. He was positioned less than 2 miles south of the F4 Manchester tornado on June 24, 2003. Schroeder's focus when chasing is to be the eyes and ears of the National Weather Service and help warn the public. His efforts as a chaser and spotter have assisted NWS meteorologists in five states issue severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings, helping protect life and property.

Schroeder is trained as a "first responder" in CPR and First Aid. He works as a Diesel Technician for a farm implement dealer, and resides in Mitchell, SD.
