Biography
I am a 38 year old male living in Auburn Hills Michigan with my wife and 2 small children (1 & 4). We own a manufactured home and are very aware of severe weather. I was a police volunteer for 6 years in the city of Hazel Park. One of our duties was weather spotting and responding to severe weather events within the city limits. We were trained in CPR, traffic duty (blocking roads, traffic control), babysit down power lines and flooded areas. We were trained on how to use police radios and I am licensed to use mobile radio equipment capable of receiving police frequencies in a vehicle. During my 6 years with the Mobile Communications Support Unit (MCSU) I responded to many types of emergencies including storm aftermath, vehicle accidents, crowd control, surveilance operations. Since moving into a manufactured home in 2001 I have had a particular interest in severe weather. I use the NWS web sites, weather radios, as well as SevereStudios.com on a daily basis and am considering joining a chase tour in the summer of 2009. I am also interested in spotter training in my county (Oakland, MI)
