Biography

I am glad to be a part of the SevereStudios chase team. For over 30 years, I have been a sound and film/video professional. I am now involved in a project designing and engineering a self-contained system to transmit live video and situational data from the field.
My interest in weather started when I was in Kindergarten. I grew up in Buffalo, NY where we had many weather events of all kinds, but primarily of the winter variety. I was on the road chasing severe weather since I was old enough to drive. I went to school at Denver University, so it was while I was there that I discovered the power and beauty of the storms on the Great Plains.
As a professional broadcaster for over 20 years, I was involved in bringing the weather, news and sports information to the public. As Engineer for NFL Football, NHL Hockey, MLB and others, I designed wireless systems to bring live commentary from the sidelines to the public. As Technical Director for the network broadcasts of NASCAR racing events, I was involved in developing the systems used to bring the live feeds from the racecars to the public. Now it is my goal to bring real-time sounds and images of weather events to the public direct from the field, as seen by chasers. It is a logical succession to the current listening and viewing currently experienced in the privacy of your own home.
