About

Bryon's passion for weather has been part of his life since childhood. He began tracking storms and collecting various rain and temperature data after watching those on camera meteorologists on the weather channel and watching those storm chaser shows at age 6. He was hooked ever since.

Growing up in Western New York has its unique challenges with weather, but Lake Effect Snowstorms in the winter, and heavy thunderstorms in the spring and summer months bring some exciting times when they occur. Every aspect of weather including watching lightning from storms looming over Lake Erie and Canada, Waterspouts in the fall, and vicious storms in the midwest has fascinated me for quite some time. Bryon took his love for weather to the next level and began storm chasing as soon as he was able to drive, not realizing at the time that storm chasing would evolve to the phenomenon it is today. To Bryon, storm chasing just meant getting right into the weather action wherever it is instead of waiting at home for it. It was perfect! He was never happy unless he was right there in the action! and that remains true til this day.

Over the years, Bryon has experienced countless significant weather events around western new york, including funnel clouds and waterspouts, Severe Lake Effect SnowStorms, Floods, and Hail. During the spring/ summer, he spends nearly every available free time chasing severe weather across New York, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He is completely obsessed with storms, and will sometimes pull all-nighters watching, photographing, and videographing storms. During the spring season, whenever a thunderstorm was coming in Bryon would kiss his wife bye, grab his video camera and head out the door to the lake to videotape the storms just to capture some nice lightning shots. Bryon travels to the midwest chasing severe weather in the spring/early summer.

Bryon also got the opportunity to witness the awsome power of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. That was Bryon's first big hurricane experience.

After Hurricane Katrina Bryon was interviewed on local radio station WDOE 1410..KJRH TV Tulsa Oklahoma...WIVB Buffalo NY...Cable 8 News Jamestown NY...To talk about his first big experience with a hurricane.

Earlier that year Bryon also got to experience Hurricane Cindy that Struck Southeastern Louisiana with 90 mph winds.

In 2010 he became a member of Severe Studios ,and became able to stream live video from the field. Also, Bryon's work has appeared on some local television networks WGRZ-TV BUFFALO NY, WKBW-TV BUFFALO, NY. Also on Accuweather.com, The Weather Channel, and CNN from Atlanta. He currently streams live video through Severe Studios providing year-round coverage of significant weather in western new york and severe weather in the Mid West during Spring/early summer.

Bryon is a certified NWS Skywarn spotter And has also went through a training session through the national storm research& training institute earning a certificate for spotter network.

Bryon also serves as a Media NewsStringer/storm spotter for WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, NY and is an associate storm chaser for severe studios.
