I've been interested/obsessed with Meteorology from the beginning, but for various reasons I could not pursue a degree. I did fall into Geography and GIS, and I am enjoying my career in that field.
Last year my neighbor and I decided to investigate what it would take to safely do some storm chasing. Well, after countless purchases and hours of reading and research, here I am. Chasing and spotting in Alabama and the Southeast is very difficult, but I hope to add an extra set of eyes out in the field to aid in the warning/reporting process. And if the circumstances allow, I look to make at least one trip a year out to the Plains, just to get away from all of these trees!
At the moment I do not see chasing becoming anything more than a hobby, but I do hope to continue to gain more knowledge and experience with each chase.
