About
I am from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and have lived here all my life. I spent my summers as a kid in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and viewed all types of severe weather there. A little over a year ago, there was a tornado that touched down in Epsom, New Hampshire as I was working (i was delivering freight for DHL) and I was approximately 3 miles from where it touched down. I experienced strong winds and heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning. When i got within a mile of where it touched down, i was turned away by the police but could see the destruction in the distance. A lady whos house was totally destroyed by the tornado was killed. About a month later, the damage was still evident and i shot a video of the area where the tornado came off Northwood lake and crossed the road snapping the tops of trees off with ease. It is something that I will never forget. I wanted to be a meteorologist when i was a kid but never followed that path. Today, i am extremely interested in severe weather and follow the weather carefully. I have a weather folder in my bookmarks that contain everything from national and local doppler radar sites to streaming webcams worldwide so i can follow any severe weather. I happened to find this site from Livenewscameras.com and immediately wanted to join so that maybe i could contribute and post video and or pictures of severe weather from my area to keep people informed. Since i am on the road everyday and drive close to 200 miles a day encompassing 7 towns, the odds of me experiencing some type of severe weather is very good.
