Tornado Causes Damage in Sioux Falls, SD
A severe line of thunderstorms tore through the Sioux Falls, SD area last night causing significant damage. A suspected tornado touched down on the south side of town.
Trees and power lines were down across the city and officials even ordered a no travel advisory at one point last night. Structural damage was evident to numerous businesses and even a hospital. They were reports of a gas leak near Empire Mall.

The report received by the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls indicates a tornado at 11:25 PM. Eight injuries were reported at the damaged Avera Heart Hospital.
The NWS already has a survey team out assessing damage.
More severe weather and heavy rainfall will be possible in these areas again today.
